Happy Vicennial Deaf Side Songs!!!

My sophomore album is 20 years old!!

I only ever printed this on CD back in 2004, so I think it is time to bring it fully into the 21st Century…

Listen here….

I wrote this album as a way to escape the grief of losing my Mum and it was also the last year I spent in my family home before we sold up and moved on. I have hazy memories of the time, but this album played a big part in meeting new people, including my now partner Bern Young.

I wrote a Substack blog about the album if you would like to read more…

Matt Willis played double bass and introduced me to the amazing talents (and friendship) of Grammy Award-winning pedal steel player, Lucky Oceans, who also played accordion. My good friend Daniel Di Paola played drums and percussion (including the tabla). Rob Grant at Poons Head Studios is behind all the production once more and he pulled a big beautiful sound out of acoustic music. My cousin Heath Properjohn took the photos and designed a great album cover.
