‘Still Gold’ by Nick Earls – Stories in the Key of GC

I had so much fun performing this story with Nick Earls in our last Stories in the Key of GC. The award winning Brisbane author takes you back to the 1980’s golden age of jingle writing on the Gold Coast.

From a legendary lost gold mine, to the rise and fall of Christopher Skase, complete with song and dance routine. There’s a most unexpected encounter with ol’ blue eyes himself and believe it or not, seals .. from space.

Special thanks to Trevor Jackson for his golden voice on the opening ‘mock’ promo. Thanks also to Peter Tong for the wonderful photos, and of course Bern Young on the mic, Jake Morton on the drums and Dan Booth on guitar.

Thanks HOTA, Home of the Arts, BlankGC and RADF, Regional Arts Development Fund.
